Event Staff
Event staff security officers utilize outstanding customer service skills learned through our G.I.F.T.S. hospitality program to ensure the safety of patrons, employees, and visitors at a variety of large and small scale events.
Armed Security Officers
Armed guards are extensively trained to handle any number of high-risk assignments — from critical infrastructure to executive protection and more — that require an elevated security presence.
Command Center Operators
In this fast-paced administrative role, command center operators are responsible for scheduling and providing excellent customer service 24/7 in support of our employees and clients.
Site Supervisors
Site supervisors often perform the duties of a security officer, and are responsible for the supervision and leadership of a full security team at a client site.
Operations Managers
In this leadership role, operations managers oversee many officers and site supervisors for an assigned group of clients.
Corporate Staff
As DK continues to grow as the largest locally owned security company in Michigan, we continue to support our clients and security officers in fully staffed, regional corporate offices. We’re proud to promote from within; in fact, most of our leadership team began in entry-level roles with DK.
Private Investigators
Our highly experienced investigators handle a variety of cases, including fraud, sexual harassment, and more.
Store Detectives
Undercover store detectives are covert security professionals assigned to retail and grocery stores to help minimize shoplifting. Their goal is to identify and apprehend individuals involved in theft while minimizing disruption to the store's regular operations. Store detectives play a crucial role in safeguarding merchandise and deterring criminal activities for stores.
Trusted Training
DK Security is committed to providing the highest quality and most thorough training in the industry for its security officers. The training process begins with a comprehensive orientation and continues throughout the officer’s security career.
- New Hire Orientation: All newly hired employees participate in a mandatory company orientation prior to beginning any type of work assignment. During this orientation, new employees complete paperwork, undergo a pre-employment background screening, drug testing, receive uniforms and photo ID, and review company policies and procedures. Universal training in security-specific topics (including customer service, report writing, use of radios, CPR/first aid, and more) occur at this time as well.
- DK University: After receiving a job offer, DK Security staff complete standardized, online training through DK University. Each topic area includes an assessment that must be passed with an 80% or greater in order to advance onto the next training topic. The system includes the ability to give the officers active feedback on any incorrectly answered material, so they may review specific areas to ensure they properly understand all areas of instruction.
- On-site Training: Site specific, on the job training will be provided at the assigned account prior to employees working independently in a new position. Upon successful completion of orientation, the new DK Security officer is sent to their site to receive hands-on training with a supervisor or an experienced officer. Hands-on training is very important because of the nuances at each client location. Throughout the training process, the trainer will give the new officer more responsibilities, eventually shadowing the new officer and letting him or her take the lead on all duties, with the trainer functioning as a safety net and evaluating their performance.
- Ongoing Training: Training is a continuous process, and it does not end once the officer passes their on-site training. Continual training is needed in order to keep officers performing at the highest level and to communicate important policy changes. Ongoing training can be online or in-person, depending on the content that needs to be covered.
- Supervisory Training (If applicable): In addition to the standard security officer training, a site supervisor will go through supervisory training at DK Security’s headquarters. During this time, they will meet with departmental leaders to better understand their responsibilities and how to meet the needs of their assigned security staff and client. A site supervisor will typically go through extensive training at their site with either the client contacts or a DK operations manager.
